Market women from Ovrode, Ellu and Aradhe communities in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have pledged to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The women made the commitment during a solidarity visit to the Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme, at his country home in Ovrode, where they commended his contributions to community development and expressed confidence in his commitment to their welfare.
They also praised Oborevwori’s administration for its development initiatives, pledging support for the government’s programmes and the APC ahead of the elections.
The women said the visit was an opportunity to appreciate Onojaeme’s interventions in their communities and reaffirm their confidence in his leadership, adding that they were prepared to mobilise residents at the grassroots for the party’s candidates.
Responding, Onojaeme thanked the women for the visit and their show of solidarity, describing their commitment as an expression of confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Oborevwori.
He urged them to sustain their engagement with residents and encourage greater participation in the political process ahead of the 2027 polls.
The commissioner said supporting Tinubu, Oborevwori and other APC candidates would, in his view, help sustain ongoing economic reforms and development initiatives.
He expressed optimism that the Federal Government’s policies and the Delta State Government’s development programmes under the MORE Agenda would deliver further benefits to the people.
Onojaeme also called on the women to remain united and actively participate in grassroots political activities, stressing the importance of community engagement in the electoral process.
The visit ended with the women reaffirming their pledge to mobilise support for the APC and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
